I have a child who shows autistic tendencies. He is also blind from birth, owing to a rare genetic disorder. He has been constipated since infancy. With respect to Secrenase, I read on thier website, that on account of the higher levels of acid in the stomach, one would observe diarrhea. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has used Secrenase and whose child was constipated (or at least did not have diarrhea). Thanks for responding,
Meenu.

Hi- our boy has had both loose motions and now more recently constipation- talk to the Secrenase consultants- it's possible you need a stool analysis for Bacteroides overgrowth which causes constipation- It's a special stool test- a regular Doctor's one won't find it-- and see the Web page on this site called Dysbiosis
Hope this helps- Brett from Melbourne Australia

Dear Meenu,
I think we have spoken on the phone, haven't we? I am one of the Consultants at Secrenase, and Brett is right - constipation very often is caused by an overgrowth of Bacteroides - an 'anaerobic' bacteria which grows particularly well in the acid, oxygen-starved environment of the gut in children with ASD. A stool analysis is the best way to find out, this can be done by post. If you want to contact me, my e-mail address is <> Regards David Patterson

Hi meenu, My son had severe constipation from a very young age. When he was approx. 3 1/2 yrs of age he commenced on secrenase. His bowel motions improved dramatically, but so did his ability to eat alot of other foods which probably helped too. We did a faecal analysis about 12 months after starting on Secrenase, and I wish I had done it much sooner. He had severe imbalances, but with some rather easy and effective treatments from his GP, these were corrected and even a problem of constant bouncing was also "cured" with it. A dairy free diet also helped alot when he was much younger. He is now almost 5 and is progressing very well. Secrenase is a product I will continue to use and I am very greatful for it's existance. But above all, I thank God for the miracle he is performing in my son's life!
