None of the therapeutic interventions discussed in these web pages have been approved by the FDA, TGA or any other authoritative body as effective therapy for Autistic Spectrum Disorder, in all of its variations and types.
We can not and do not therefore, make any claims to be able to cure any child.
We have been involved in bio-medical intervention in Autistic Spectrum Disorder since 1995 and during this time there have been many therapies advocated as a ‘cure’ for Autism.
Autism is a complex disorder that has its origins in genetics, environmental influences, nutrition and immunity. These factors inter-react in an individual child and give rise to that particular child’s set of autistic problems. Every child is unique and every child has different needs.
Our purpose is to try to define what a particular child’s problems and needs are and to set about correcting all of the negative influences that are preventing that child from achieving normal neuro-development.
In so doing we utilise only those therapies which have been found to have a positive effect in a significant percentage of children and we draw on the experience of our own cases, from the experience and expertise of other therapists and from learned bodies such as the Autism Research Institute, the DAN organisation and from individual researchers in the field of ASD.
We firmly believe that at the present time there is no cure for Autism, but we also firmly believe that individual children can be recovered – evidence from such organisations as the ARI confirm this, as does our own experience. There is no ‘one size fits all’ therapy and all children need to be assessed individually and therapy tailored to their special needs.
What we do promise is that we will do all that we can to help you and your child recover the ground lost in this complex disorder.
You should at all times be comfortable with our recommendations for your child and ask for explanation and discussion. If you are in any doubt as to whether to follow our recommendations you should discuss the management plan with your regular healthcare provider.
On your request we will provide written explanation to any third party of your choosing – your GP, your child’s Paediatrician or any other healthcare practitioner.
